July Happenings

• TODAY Pastor Chip guides discussion centered on the parable of the Prodigal Son--drawing from the writings of Henri Nouwen -no book needed to participate.  Every Wednesday in July; 7pm in the lounge.

• Summer Sunday school has begun.  Interactive with all age groups --- from kindergarden to high school --- the teens assist the youngest children with art, theatre and singing while our Christian Education team coordinates and supervises. Upper elementary and junior high work together as well.

• Inez' 95th Birthday Party in her garden.  All invited!.  Sunday, July 5th.

• Journey of Faith. 9:30am Sunday (July 12, 19, 26 and August 2). Plan to attend the return of this moving and enjoyable series.

• Have You Read It? Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner. Pick up this classic during June, then gather among friends, old and new, in the parlor on July 7th at 7pm for discussion.

• Beach Baptism, September 27th in the afternoon.

• Hands of Service Celebration, October 4th in the courtyard after 10am worship.

• Retreat with Pastor Emeritus Bruce Van Blair at The Inn at Laguna Beach.  October 9 - 11, 2009.  Book directly with the hotel at 949.497.9722; mention "Van Blair Retreat".

• Spiritual Renewal Series with Bruce Van Blair. Evenings of October 14 - 17 in the sanctuary.  Culminates with Bruce preaching Sunday morning, October 18th in the sanctuary.  Details to follow.

• 20th Anniversary Celebration of Rodger Whitten, Music Director,October 25th or November 1st.

• Heritage Fair, November 22nd .
